The Rebel Teacher Mission.

At Rebel Teacher, we are on a mission to prevent educator burnout while ensuring that every teacher in America has access to an emotionally safe work environment, free from bullying, harassment, and abuse.

Through our supportive online community, individual and group coaching, workshops, retreats, online courses, consultation and more, we provide the mental health support, resources, community, and advocacy that all educators deserve. Whether you want to find balance in your current role, or you are ready to leave the profession entirely, we are here to support you every step of the way.

Who we are.

We are a community of rebels - courageous educators from across the country who are here to support, nurture, and validate each other. We are here because we love our students and we love our work, but we know that in order to continue making an impact in our communities, we must start putting ourselves ourselves first.

Rebel Teacher was founded by Katie Quick, MA, LPC , an educator, Licensed Professional Counselor, SEL Specialist, award-winning singer/songwriter and national speaker with over 17 years in urban education and a passion for teacher advocacy and mental health. "Teaching can be such an isolating experience that people don’t understand. Having someone who “gets it” listen, validate, and sometimes offer a different perspective or tool is so valuable. Even just being able to hold space for each other to share highs and lows, and moments of gratitude, is so refreshing. This is a really cool thing that Katie has set up for teachers to take some time to focus on our own mental health - something we never do enough of!"

17 years in education. 7 different schools. 3 separate burn-outs. 2 career changes. Toxic work environments. Depression. Anxiety. Isolation. Guilt. Shame. This was my experience as a teacher.

I was in a constant state of stress that was so “normal” to me that it became my baseline way of being. I experienced everything from administrator bullying to sexual harassment and panic attacks. I had nowhere to turn.

I created Rebel Teacher because it’s time for a revolution. It’s time for educators to unite in a different kind of way - for our mental health, our well-being, our happiness, and our lives.

Rebel Teacher is the safe and supportive community that I always needed. It’s a community that’s not linked to evaluations schools, or districts, but one that was created simply because we deserve better.

You belong here. I see you, I hear you, and you are not alone.

Become a member today. I can’t wait to meet you.

With love and gratitude,

"Having a weekly meeting to focus on reflection, naming my feelings, and identifying what I needed to do to stay mentally healthy was so valuable. I need that accountability just like I need group exercise classes to keep me on track with fitness. Developing relationships with other educators helped me to not feel so alone in my stress. This support built up my capacity to be able to perform better at my job and be there for my family. Katie is incredibly empathetic, validates all feelings, and asks provocative questions to build my capacity to problem solve and figure out what works for me."
